The Ultimate Game Changer

Carlos Linares • July 31, 2024

The "game changer" can be an athlete, a situation, a condition, or anything that has the ability of giving the team, the score, the fans, and even the whole game a 180° flip. When things are not going as we want or planned we need desperately a game changer.

God is amazing, He is the sum of all that we are and what we are not. Sin is destructive and persistent in its mission to separate us from God. Therefore the message of the Gospel makes us feel very small. God is holy, perfect, pure and amazing, sin is absolutely terrible, disgusting and dirty. We have all sinned so we have been destitute of the glory of God, separated from that amazing being. Sin makes us feel like when we are on the floor, defeated and someone keeps kicking us, like the score is a 5-0 against us. This was our story, this is the story of many people.

However, that is not the end of the story. It's amazing how many times we need a game changer. in this verses the total game changer is reflected in two simple words "But God".

Is crazy how for many years I was feeling so dead, like I was playing a soccer game and just on the first half my team was losing 5-0. For so many years I was without purpose, without direction, and without hope. I was trying to fulfill my void with things from this world; both good and bad things like drugs, alcohol, relationships, money, personal fulfillment, but nothing was enough.

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins in which you previously walked according to the ways of this world, according to the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit now working in the disobedient. We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also. But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love that he had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might display the immeasurable riches of his grace through his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:1-7 CSB

I was dead, lost, condemned, But God gave me life, found me, saved me through Jesus. Now I have a purpose, direction, and hope. I don't live life selfishly thinking just about me. This is my game changer and more than that, this is my life changer, because since then my life was never been the same. You can also have a 180° turn to your life, the bible calls this repentance. If you decide today to stop living for yourself and start living for God, following Jesus way and teachings I can assure you, that is the best life changer.
